An example of orientation sensitivity is the car meter, seen in Figure 4.2. Car meters make use of the pop up effect so that the speed of the vehicle can be easily read while driving. The pop up effect is achieved through the red needle indicator which is a pop up from the white numbers and black background. Orientation sensitivity is therefore important as it enables drivers to read the speed of the car with just a glance. Otherwise, it would be dangerous if the driver need a long time to read the car meters as it will distract his attention from the road.
